What a great weekend in the books. We decided on a whim to hit up Wollersheim with my dad and sister. If you ever visit this area I highly recommend it. It was rated 2015 small winery of the year and is opening a distillery this fall! Some of their wines are a little on the sweet side but my favorite is the Prairie Fume. It is a wine that can be paired with just about anything.
When we were asked to sample the port we gladly accepted, thinking it would taste like the other wines we were offered. My dad took a large sip of it and exclaimed “UGLGH” super loudly. He didn’t realized it was also brandy. So I ended up passing on that one. As you can see by the above picture that it didn’t phase any of us to wear workout pants in public. I don’t even think I had packed jeans.
Saturday we headed up to the Lacrosse area to visit the in laws. We got there around 11:30 but found out that the restaurant didn’t open until Noon. We were in hangry mode so we drove to the nearest starbucks for a snack. Their egg, spinach, and feta wraps are great for on the go!
Sunday, I brought out the trusty pizza roller for my legs. I did a hillier 6 mile route and can feel it in my in front of my shins. I just googled this apparently that muscle is the tibialis anteriors. Who knew?
With that, I leave you with this weeks nephew pic. He looks so grown up! I am not sure how he is balancing on the edge of his swing.
Have you tried a port? Ever get sore tibialis anteriors?
