I am writing this post for two reasons:
1.) So that I wake up tomorrow and spring is here.
2.) So that I actually follow these tips and do my own spring cleaning.
When I head home from work I usually have every intention to get projects done and to scrub the bathtub. After dinner is made I sometimes go to yoga but usually gravitate toward the couch. Next thing I know, I am making popcorn and getting ready for bed.
Spring Cleaning Tips
Get in the Small Spaces
Take a q-tip or tooth pick to clean out crevices. I do this with my washer and dryer because it seems like it gets filled with dust and dirt easily.
My favorite go to cleaning spray is actually home – made.
I use a small spray bottle since I don’t like when it sits in there too long in my cupboard.
½ cup water
¼ cup white vinegar
7 drops essential oil
Since I am now a proud owner of some essentials I incorporate them into the mix. Before I had them I left them out and got the same result just not as good of a smell.
Clean Light Fixtures
Nothing worse than giving a tour of your home and there is a dust covered light fixture. I usually assume no one will be able to notice and then the light hits it just perfectly so that the dust bunnies are visible.
Donate, Donate, Donate
For me, spring cleaning goes had in hand with multiple trips to good will. Otherwise I mainly do organization stuff like clean out the storage room for stuff to donate and switch seasons of clothes in the closets.
Well there you have it! Here is a good list of a a few of my favorite tricks that I had to use in college. There may have been a few times where a bright red drink of some sort was spilled everywhere.
**Have you done any spring cleaning?
