Don’t tell my son it took me a year to get his nursery together! Yes, we still have many unopened boxes in the basement. Yes, the nursery is the only room in the house that even has holes in the wall. I wanted the nursery to be very simple no obnoxious colors. The sea and sky collection at Minted stood out to us right away. I didn’t want the full on nautical theme since that is kind of over done. The classic look of the art that was displayed was all I needed to see to make a decision to incorporate it into his nursery. We have some toy planes that we want to hang from the ceiling that will hopefully catch his eye and soothe him to sleep (I can dream right?)
I always associated Minted with wedding invitations and gorgeous Christmas cards. I signed my sister up for the free wedding invite samples. She is getting married in April and I am sure she will love getting a few ideas. When I found out they have artwork from local artists, I was sold! The pieces we chose were artists from Michigan and Minnesota. I had been looking for prints for months and was always worried they wouldn’t be worth it. You can choose any size and framed or unframed. My items were shipped to me in no time.
I really love the simplicity of this whale painting. It was one of the first that stuck out to me on their website and I hope Archie will love it as well. I went big and got an 11×14 and an 8×8 for the blue whale. I also got a framed photo that came in very secure packaging.
We went with a smaller gallery wall. I love this winnie the pooh board my sister got me for my baby shower. It was the first present I opened and of course started bawling. A great start to the party. The photo in the black frame is special too. It is a picture of Archie’s baby toes with our rings stuck in between. A obvious pinterest idea but I still think it is cute. Except, Ryan switched to a black Qalo ring. He likes it because it is super comfortable especially when golfing etc. The letter A I actually got at hobby lobby when I was away on a work trip for $2. The blue whale painting was our other art purchase. Did I already mention that I am obsessed? The ladder was something someone was going to throw away and we just slapped some paint on it. Its the perfect size and we just hang a bunch of blankets on it. By the way, Archie can now sleep with a blanket! He probably could have a long time ago but we are those first time parents that are nervous about everything. He loves to cuddle with the blanket before bed and it is helping him sleep through the night! Yay for parenting.
What do you think of having the 3 whale painting in the corner to the left of the ladder shelf? I just need to bite the bullet and make a final decision. If you haven’t noticed I am indecisive and get anxiety about decorating.

This weekend we are celebrating one of my best friends 30th birthday! She is catering Qdoba and having a DQ ice cream cake. All of her favorites. I think the badgers play as well! Go bucky! I was so exhausted last night from going to my 5:15am boot camp. We took Archie to see Santa at 6pm and by the time we got home I was ready for bed. I got to bed by 9pm and am hoping it is a fresh start to the weekend. This morning, Ryan was hunting so Archie was my buddy for my workout. This did not work the way I was hoping due to him being a little clingy right now so I dropped him at my moms house for a bit. I ran 5 miles by their house. It was like 45 degrees so I wore a hat and gloves but regretted it right away. Not necessary at all. I ended up holding the hat and gloves for half of the run. Does anyone else have a great run when they are in new surroundings? I should remember to drive to the trail or other pretty running spots when I have time.
Have you ever bought anything from Minted ?
What are you doing this weekend? If you have kids, have you taken them to see Santa yet?
